Success Stories

Sometimes the hard work pays off and we win some.

FINES LIMIT INCREASE FROM £30,000 to £100,000

Following many years of lobbying to higlight the low priority afforded to the loss of our irreplaceable built heritage, the Environment Minister Alex Attwood has overseen an increase in the maximum fine to be imposed in the Crown Court. There is no upper limit in the High Court where fines can be attached to profits likely to be accrued but this route has never been taken so this remains a vital lobbying area.

LISTED BUILDING GRANT AID EXTENDED

Thanks to concerted pressure from the Society and others, DoE grant aid is now available for B2 listed buildings, which constitute approximately half of the listed building stock.
