Buildings at Risk Success stories

EHOD.jpg

Since 1993 200 Buildings at Risk structures have been rescued having subsequently found new owners or uses; while negotiations are on–going in other cases.  Buildings are removed from the Register when they are fully repaired, their future secured, and where appropriate, occupied or in use.

Ranging from the large to the small, each building saved is a major victory, transforming them from ‘Buildings at Risk’ to ‘buildings of potential’ who stimulate pride of place in their local communities and provide a focus for heritage–led regeneration whether through tourism, commerce, industry or housing.

Showcases of the 20 success stories relating to Belfast; Derry/Londonderry; Rural/ Vernacular and Community/ Partnership projects can be found by clicking on the links below.
